The China International Import Expo (CIIE) concluded its second edition on Nov. 10 with even more fruitful results than the first, showing China's resolution to further open up and inject long-term energy for more sustained development of the world economy.
According to the CIIE bureau report, the value of deals emerging from the six-day event topped $71.13 billion, up 23 percent from the event in 2018. The CIIE bureau said that at least 391 new products, technologies or services were released in this year's CIIE. Encouraged by this year's results, more than 230 companies signed up for next year's expo, including expanded exhibition areas. More than 80 applicants for the next CIIE are Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders, the CIIE bureau said.
Focusing on “Innovation driven” and “Quality & efficiency improvement”, the 18th China International Foundry Expo (METAL CHINA 2020) and the “14th China International Die Casting Industry Exhibition” & “14th International Nonferrous and Specialty Casting Exhibition” will be together held from May 13-16, 2020 at National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai, which is the same venue with CIIE.
The organizing committee of METAL CHINA also announced that METAL CHINA would move to the CIIE venue from 2020 during this year’s edition in May, which sent a signal to the world that MM CHINA is determined to grow more international and provide better services for exhibitors, buyers and visitors.
In 2020, the exhibition areas will reach up to 110,000 square meters, with an expected more than 1000 exhibitors and 100,000 visits from over 80 countries and regions. Concurrently, as the previous sessions, there will still be the Industrial Furnace Exhibition and Metallurgy Exhibition; what’s different, the China International Bearing Industry Exhibition will also be held during the same period and venue. In total, the concurrent 6 exhibitions sponsored by 5 different organizations on the same stage will break a new record of 230,000 square meters. They together will link the whole industrial chain, connect the upstream and downstream industries and provide inexhaustible energy for the transformation and upgrading of traditional foundry industry with new products, new technologies, new services, new modes and new types of business. Relying on the continued improvement of cooperation level and standard and further expanding cooperation fields and spaces, the exhibitions will provide new opportunities for the international foundry capacity cooperation and the sustainable development of the world foundry industry.
As President Xi Jinping mentioned in the keynote speech at the opening ceremony of CIIE, China is determined to advance opening-up by “tearing down walls” and not erecting them.
